My first Postdoctoral Position led me to the Universitäts-Klinikum Münster in Germany where I worked at the Centrum für Reproduktionsmedizin und Andrologie, with a focus on spermatogonial stem cells and the niche-associated factors. However, female fertility preservation has remained my priority and resulted in my current second postdoctoral position here. Currently, I am working on restoration of endocrine function using the immunoisolation technologies by using hydrogels and an FDA approved device.
Sudipta Dutta, Ph.D.
MS: University of Calcutta, India
I did my PhD in Syracuse University, NY under the tutelage of Dr. Melissa Pepling. My project was looking at germcell cyst breakdown in mice and the effect of estrogen signaling in that process. After that, I did my first postdoc in Dr. David Miller’s laboratory in University of Illinois, urbana -champaign. My two years’ tenure there involved elucidating the role of glycans in forming sperm reservoir in the female fallopian tube using bovine as the model system. The ultimate goal of the project was to develop in vitro conditions for long term cryopreservation free sperm storage system similar to female oviducts.
